In summer 2013 Roman Brogli-Sacher ended his employment in Lübeck as general music director and opera director. For more than 12 years he had shaped the musical life of Lübeck and formed the Lübeck orchestra into a widely respected ensemble. During his time as opera director, the major project "Wagner meets Mann", in which one of the best ring productions over the recent years took place in collaboration with the director Anthony Pilavachi. The video version of this production was released on Musicaphon and was awarded the annual German Record Critics' Award and the ECHO Classic 2012. Here, on this release, the Lübeck orchestra under the direction of Brogli-Sacher once again shows the capability and the artistic demands of this ensemble very clearly with a colorful program.
