Lifting the Sky- Dawn to Dreams
It is not often that an album defies classification, but Lifting the Sky's debut album, "Dawn to Dreams" does so by blending ambient, instrumental and meditative gestures with reaffirming notes of resilience woven through compositional language. This ascending genre is immersive music. Much thought has been done to carefully craft the mellifluous sounds of the flute with the sonorous envelopment of alchemy crystal singing bowls supported by organic and richly textured sounds from other alternative sources. Over 50 bowls were specially chosen to help amplify the energies/qualities of the day as the album starts a dawn and progresses through the night ending with dreams. Other sound sources were carefully chosen. Plant sonification was used to "play" a synthesizer. Field recordings were sprinkled in representing the sounds of the day. Many other sounds were used from unusual sources more often featured in the electronic arts field. Tongue drums, kalimbas and other percussion instruments provide light pulses within the compositions. Produced by Grammy Nominated Producer and critically acclaimed flutist, Peter Gordon. Crystal Alchemy Bowls played by Internationally recognized sound alchemist and gifted healer, Deva Munay Come listen; come take the journey; wrap yourself in this immersive music tapestry of sound.
