Sunnyland Slim- The Devil Is a Busy Man (CD)
Mississippi native Albert Luandrew, better known as blues pianist and vocalist Sunnyland Slim, first came into prominence in Chicago in the late 1940's fronting a band that included Muddy Waters on guitar. Early in 1954 he cut his first single for Al Benson's Parrot label subsidiary Blue Lake: "Goin' Back to Memphis" B&W "Devil Is a Busy Man." This single ranks among the best recordings of a career which spanned almost five decades. The musicians supporting Slim's piano and vocals are thought to be Snooky Pryor on harmonica and Floyd Jones and Eddie Taylor on guitars. Newly re-mastered .
