Oliver Wakeman is an award-winning musician, composer and live performer known as an out-standing piano/keyboard virtuoso. He is also the eldest son of progressive rock legend, Rick Wakeman. 'Anam Cara' is Oliver's 11th studio album, the name referring to the Celtic concept of a Soul Friend. Featuring a stellar collection of musicians, including Troy Donockley (Nightwish), Hayley Griffiths (Riverdance), Oliver Day (Fragile), Scott Higham (Pendragon) to name but a few. A fusion of Celtic rock and progressive tendencies. Featuring ten beautiful songs which span ballads, atmospheric rock songs and epic tracks. Mixed by Karl Groom (Threshold) and recorded by John Mitchell (Frost*, It Bites, Lonely Robot). Artwork by world renowned artist Anne Sudworth. Oliver was a member of prog rock veterans YES and has also toured and recorded with Strawbs. He is responsible for a number of well-received collaborations with renowned musicians including Steve Howe, Gordon Giltrap and Clive Nolan as well as having released a number of solo works. He has appeared on over 60 albums during his career.
