Coolin' In Cali

7A3 was the first group of DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill) who neither produces anything nor offers rap here, maybe just a few scattered scratches. The group, formed by Brett B. and Sean B., in addition to the aforementioned Muggs, came originally from New York. The production is almost entirely created by Joe "The Butcher" Nicolo, while a couple of cuts are offered by Daddy-O. The title track is the musical work of Hank Shocklee, Keith Shocklee and Sadler. Just a great old school hip hop album. It is a fun album that is very reminiscent of how great rap was back in the day. Solid beats, great lyrics. Not all the swearing and crass gang banging stuff that came out later with gangster rap.
