Brahms / Leygraf- Leygraf Archives 2 (CD)
"The Romantic Leygraf"- This headline might raise a few eyebrows. This is the second volume in the archive series with legendary Swedish pianist Hans Leygraf (1920-2011). Leygraf was known worldwide for his meticulous work with classics such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, and his reputation was reinforced by his dedicated work as a pedagogue, not least at the Mozarteum University Salzburg during the last decades of his life. On this album he shows a less known side in previously never released radio recordings of mazurkas by Frédéric Chopin (1969), fantasy pieces by Robert Schumann (1993), and intermezzi by Johannes Brahms (1971). A must for all Leygraf fans!
