Gregor Tresher- False Gods (PREORDER)
Widely regarded as a rare exception to electronic music's trend-driven landscape, Tresher's evolution from his early days in his hometown of Frankfurt in the 90s to his standing today, having remixed and worked with modern greats in Depeche Mode, Moby or Extrawelt to name just a few, has brought with it a series of critically acclaimed albums - both under his real name and via his Sniper Mode alias. At 14, Gregor Tresher had his first proper ecstatic club experience and danced until dawn at Frankfurt's legendary Omen. He's never looked back. "That night is the reason why I became the person who I am, and chose this profession. That's why I keep making music. I can only hope that there is one kid in the room tonight who shares that feeling of enlightenment." Call it magic or transcendence or getting the spirit; the pursuit of that elusive, indescribable quality drives Gregor Tresher to this day. It reverberates throughout False Gods, one of his most extensive projects to date, and his first studio full-length in eight years. On this introspective journey into the mind of one of modern electronic music's most exciting minds, fellow travellers from his decades on the techno scene - including Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, and Josh Wink - helped to craft the lyrics, melodies, rhythms, and grooves. The album's title winks at the adulation showered on superstar DJs, while also harking back to one of his earliest memories of music.
