Raised, and still rooted in West Texas, Kat Hasty's songs have been shaped by the desolation of the desert, the rough and rowdy crowd that comes through these small oil towns, and early signs of depression and an ever present sense of melancholy. Kat Hasty is stepping into a bold new era with her sophomore project, The Time of Your Life, set to arrive this May. The album marks her first full-band project and a significant departure from the stripped-down acoustic style that introduced her to the world. The Time of Your Life is more akin to the energy of her live shows, embracing a full band accompaniment while still holding tight to the West Texas perspective that sets her apart. Through it all, Kat is balancing the demands of a rapidly growing career with motherhood, raising a five year-old while chasing artistry that lasts. "I just want to make a great record," she says simply. "Nothing else really matters. I'll keep working until I make a record that stands the test of time."
