Lionel Hampton, the master of the jazz vibraphone, is one of the most important figures in jazz history, with a career that spanned almost seven decades, working with such luminaries as Benny Goodman and Buddy Rich to Charlie Parker and Quincy Jones. This rare, late-sixties recording features a handful of Hamp's original compositions and a nice rendition of Burt Bacharach's "Close to You" featuring a female vocalist. All selections newly remastered.
