'Uchuu Senkan Yamato, ' which first aired on October 6, 1974, celebrates it's 50th anniversary this year. The album 'Koukyou Kumikyoku Uchuu Senkan Yamato' originally released by Nippon Columbia on December 25, 1977, was a major hit and became a landmark in anime soundtracks. In this album, Miyagawa, who was in charge of the BGM, re-arranged and re-edited the music, recording it with a full orchestra. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, a new remixed version of the original multi-tape recordings has been produced, available in both vinyl and CD formats. Toshiyasu Shiozawa, a multiple Japan Professional Music Award winner, was selected as the mixer. The vinyl cutting engineer is Shigeru Takezawa, while Yumiko Yamashita, who worked on the 'YAMATO SOUND ALMANAC' series and the 'Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202' music products, was in charge of CD mastering. Additionally, Shigeru Takezawa handled the vinyl cutting for Akira Miyagawa's 'YAMATO SOUND ALMANAC 2202, ' which will be simultaneously released by Bandai Namco Music Live. Both the original 'Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato' and this new release will come out on December 25, the anniversary of the original album's release, with the announcement made on October 6, the anniversary of the first episode's broadcast.
