Synopsis
Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), who lost Big (Chris Noth) to a wife (Bridget Moynahan) 10 years younger and several inches taller than she, finds love with furniture designer and all-around nice guy Aidan (John Corbett) in the comedy's third season. The romantic humor helped nab Sex and the City an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series -- the first such honor for a cable series in any category. Unfortunately, Carrie also has her share of drama, jeopardizing her relationship with Aidan by having an affair with Big. Hoping to put this squandered opportunity behind her, Carrie takes off for Los Angeles to explore the prospect of turning her columns into a movie. The trip includes a meeting with Matthew McConaughey and, with her friends in tow, a visit to the Playboy mansion. Back in the Big Apple, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) hires a judgmental maid (Lynn Cohen) and takes a stab at cohabitation with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Steve (David Eigenberg). Samantha (Kim Cattrall) fulfills her firefighter fantasy, meets her idol Hugh Hefner and clashes with the transsexual prostitutes in her new neighborhood. And wedding bells are in the air for Charlotte (Kristin Davis), who finally discovers her Prince Charming in blue-blooded, Park Avenue doctor Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), but her dreams of a fairy-tale romance don't come with the happy ending she imagined.
