Yohei- Echo You Know (CD)
Yohei, a Japanese singer-songwriter living in L.A., releases his second album 'Echo You Know' in January 2024. Guest musicians include Nels Cline (Wilco), Leonardo Marquez, and Jay Bellerose! Recorded in the yard of a Los Angeles home, this is not bedroom pop, but superb 'yard pop'. While his previous album in 2022, 'in between my ears there is a cloud and a five dollar bill', was entirely instrumental, this album features six songs with English lyrics and two songs with Japanese vocals, and is a statement of Yohei's side as a singer-songwriter. With the exception of a few guests, Yohei wrote the lyrics, composed the music, sang the songs, played all the instruments, recorded, and mixed the music all by himself, which was recorded outdoors in Yohei's yard in Los Angeles.
