Vinyl LP pressing. Following the success of the Songwriter: 1970 and Songwriter: 1971 sets, Demon Records is proud to announce a new release in the Marc Bolan Songwriter series. This is a vinyl-only, intimate series that focuses on the private and creative Marc Bolan, with the emphasis on how that affected his songwriting. Songwriter: 1973 takes in a period of change during which Bolan was very active in recording studios in the US and Europe. As the sleevenote says: "In developing, accelerating and refining a 'T. Rex sound' with Tony Visconti at the controls, Bolan had achieved two things. He'd joined Elvis Presley and The Beatles as an unprecedented pop phenomenon turned youth culture legend. And he'd become synonymous with a musical sound. Now, in 1973, with a pack of dressed-up disciples breathing down his neck and critics eager to knock his success, the budding anti-star wanted out". With a selection of finished recordings and working versions, this 16-track compilation charts Bolan's attempts to move away from and develop the sound he had invented. This release has been compiled and fully annotated (in a 1800-word note) by Mark Paytress, author of the definitive biography Marc Bolan: The Rise And Fall of a 20th Century Superstar, and the recently-published Glam! When Superstars Rocked The World, 1970-74.

Shipping Recommendations
In order to ship your records to you in the safest way possible, and to avoid seam splits, we recommend removing the record from the jacket when shipping. That said, we will never open sealed records and do this without your permission. If you would like your records shipped to you this way, please request this in the notes section of checkout. Darkside Records - How We Ship
Please review our shipping policy (link below) for information on our shipping rates and import fees.
Shipping Policy
Free Shipping offer applies to US orders only. We will choose the most economical way to ship your items. If you have preorders in your cart, and opt for free shipping, all items will ship with the last remaining preorder in the order. Turntables/Speakers/Consoles are not eligible for free shipping.
All domestic Vinyl orders ship via UPS/USPS Ground (with the exception of PO Boxes, APO/FPO where we must choose USPS) for a flat rate of $7.99 + $1 for each additional item. We take great care in our packaging to ensure orders arrive to you quickly and safely. Most orders are shipped within 24 hours of your order being placed (with some exceptions, e.g. post RSD when we have a massive influx of orders) and are packaged in Whiplash LP mailers that are specifically designed to protect your records. We use 100% recyclable packing materials, from paper tape to HexcelPack, to do our small part to cut out single-use plastics.
***Please note that we are not responsible for stolen packages and are not able to refund you for your purchase if your package was stolen after delivery. While we can help you file a claim, if UPS or Fedex deliver your package and take a proof of delivery photo, it is unlikely they will reimburse the missing package.
International Orders: Please note that taxes, fees and duties are worked into your shipping fees at checkout. We know and agree that international shipping rates are incredibly expensive. Unfortunately at this time we do not feel that USPS is a reliable option for us to ship international orders so our prices exclusively reflect those of UPS or Fedex. Please reach out to us with any questions.
> Due to the current limited nature of music titles and production issues, ALL CD & Vinyl purchases are limited to one copy per customer, per item. If you place multiple orders for the same title, your subsequent orders will be cancelled.

How We Ship
We take great pride in our packaging and have spent years honing it so that it is not only 100% recyclable materials, but also protects your records from the woes of being tossed from truck to truck during the shipping process.
