The album is a tapestry of fine melody and elegant noise, rhythmic shadowplay and shy-eyed orchestral beauty, songfulness and experimentation, and it comes across as almost self-referential (before it returns to other reference points, such as those of the albums mentioned earlier). The songs here create a unified mood that lasts long after they're over, and with this album, the band has developed not only a style, but a voice that is distinctly its own.
