Freiburger Barockorchester- Auf Der Jagd Nach Romantik
During the 18th century, the French horn flourished, as evidenced by the growing number of pieces dedicated to it by composers. The instrument evoked the wide open spaces and forests that fed the imagination of Romantic Germany. Following the trail of the instrument that was soon to be king of the 19th century, the Freiburger Barockorchester, and horn players Bart Aerbeydt and Gijs Laceulle, track down the burgeoning romanticism in the concertos and chamber pieces of Mozart (father and son), Beethoven, Simrock and Rosetti.
