Lana began planning the album just two months after releasing her third studio album Ultraviolence (2014) Del Rey collaborated with producers including Daniel Heath, Rick Nowels, Emile Haynie and Justin Parker. The singer revealed the album title to Billboard in January. "It's very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise," she said. Honeymoon includes the single "High by the Beach". Del Rey started songwriting at the age of 18 and signed her first recording contract in 2007. It wasn't until five years later, upon the release of her second album, that Lana achieved worldwide critical success.
