Previously unreleased live recordings from Bates Motel, the Los Angeles new wave band whose members went on to join Sparks and Devo and form Gleaming Spires. Captured at two legendary Sunset Strip venues-the Starwood and the Whisky-a-Go-Go-in 1980, these fifteen tracks document a band of sharp-edged songwriters at the white-hot center of LA's new wave explosion. Les Bohem (bass/vocals, later the screenwriter behind Dante's Peak and Steven Spielberg's Taken), Bob Haag (guitar/vocals), Dave Draves (guitar), and David Kendrick (drums) deliver taut, hook-filled originals plus a blistering encore of ""Stop! In The Name Of Love."" Restored from the original analog show tapes and remastered by Prof. Stoned for their first-ever release. Limited-edition digipak with a 20-page booklet featuring producer Chaim O'Brien-Blumenthal's expansive liner notes chronicling the band's history in the LA punk and new wave scene of the 1970s and '80s.
